Lake Levels and City Boat Ramps

The lake level is continuing to fall.  As of June 8th, the lake's level as measured from the Hoffner Bridge Gauge is 84 feet.   With the weather forecast, it doesn't look like we will have much rain in the near future, which will continue to cause the lake level to drop.

Following the County permit issued to the City for Perkins Ramp, when the water level falls to 83.5 feet, the ramp must be closed to all motorized vessels.  This includes any resident who uses the ramps to remove their vessels from the water for maintenance or servicing.  The City Council also orders the Venetian Ramp closed when Perkins Ramp is closed since Venetian Ramp's area is shallower than Perkins Ramp.  When these ramps are closed, residents can still use the Randolph Ramp off Hoffner or the Fern Creek Ramp.

During this closure, non-motorized vessels (kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards) can be launched from Perkins or Venetian as the man-gate will still be open.
